SUMMARY:2024 East End 1K
DESCRIPTION:The fifth installment of the East End 1K is just around the corner!!  As always\, LET’S NOT OVERDO IT!  This year\, a portion of the proceeds will support the Bayou Preservation Association.  They have played a vital role in the restoration and protection of the various bayous around Houston since the mid 60s!  We spend a lot of our time walking\, running\, biking\, etc.\, these areas so why not do our part to help preserve them! \nThe event will be on Sunday\, November 10th\, 2024 at 11AM and begin and end at Equal Parts Brewing\, with prizes and drawings post race. \nTo raise additional funds\, for the Bayou Preservation Association\, we will hold drawings after the race with a chance to win various prizes. Please check out the prize table and purchase tickets! Cash and Venmo will be accepted. \n  \nFAQs: \nWhat is included with my registration? \nEach registration includes a technical shirt\, two free drink tickets\, and a drawing ticket. \nIs there a late registration? \nYes\, it will be at a reduced price; however\, it will not include a shirt. \nIs there a packet pick-up or do I just show up on race day? \nJust show up to Equal Parts Brewing on Sunday\, November 10th\, 2024 at 11 A.M! \nWhere do we start? Where do we finish? Where do we park?  \nThe ​Start/Finish line is just across the street from the brewery. There is parking at the brewery! \nAre dogs welcome? \nOf course!  Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times in accordance with local laws.  Please be sure to keep an eye on the weather as it could still be warm out\, so be sure to bring some extra water for your pup. \nAre kids welcome? \n​Kids can certainly tag along for the race and festivities\, but race participants need to be 21 and up given the nature of the event. \nIs this going to be a timed event? \n​The event will not be timed. Remember the motto of the event is: Let’s Not Overdo It! \nIs there going to be a hard start time\, or can I show up late and still join the fun? \n​We will be starting on Sunday\, November 10\, 2024 at 11:30AM but the course will be marked.  If you are late\, you can still run the route and meet us back at the brewery for beers\, prizes\, and drawings \nWill there be water stations? \n​There will not be water stations along the route\, but water will be available at the brewery. Help cut down on waste and bring your own water bottle! \nIs the path/route going to be marked so that I don’t get lost? \n​Absolutely! \nAre there any road hazards I should concern myself with? \n​The Start/Finish line is across the street from the brewery\, so you will have to cross two lanes and the light rail.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL crossing the street! \nCan I get a refund if I am unable to attend? \nSorry\, but we will not be able to offer refunds or deferred registrations. \nHow can I get more information about the Bayou Preservation Association? \nPlease visit their website – Bayou Preservation Association

SUMMARY:Second Saturday Block Party Fundraiser - F*** Cancer
DESCRIPTION:On April 13\, Banding Together and Houston Punkfest are taking over our parking lot to raise funds for little Olivia Herrin’s ongoing battle with cancer. Olivia’s fight include weekly rounds of chemo and the Herrins are less than halfway to their goal. Let’s help get them closer to it. \n🎸 10 badass bands will take the stage in support of this cause from 2-9pm. If you love what you hear or if this cause moves you to do so\, please donate. Every little bit counts. \n🎨 While the bands play\, we’ll be creating a community work of chalk art. We’ll provide the sidewalk chalk\, you bring the heart and childlike whimsy. Let’s cover our lot with drawings and messages of love. This is all-ages and FREE to participate. \n🍻 Want to drink your support? We got you.
