The Helles style was developed in Munich in the late 19th century, making it one of the younger traditional styles from that part of the world. It was a response to the popularity of beers coming out of bohemia, most notably Czech Pils, and it utilized new malting techniques that helped it get that super-clean and bready flavor that makes them so distinctly delicious. It is like taking a traditional style and remixing it to satisfy a new taste, hence our name, MK II. MK II is super clean, super crisp, with a bready aroma and a slightly heavier mouthfeel than Loggerbier. Look for traditional spicy notes from noble hops and a dry, refreshing finish.
